VR, Film, & Television Composer

biography

In just 10 years, Jeremy Nathan Tisser has scored nearly 70 projects in film, TV, games & new media. Due to his extensive knowledge of rhythm and percussion, coupled with his passion for the orchestra, Jeremy has become the first-call composer for percussion-based orchestral scores. From taiko drums to talking drums, bodhrans to frame drums, Jeremy has acquired, written for, and recorded them all.

Jeremy has had the great privilege over the years of working with Aneesh Chaganty (Searching, Run), Sev Ohanian (Judas & The Black Messiah, Space Jam 2), Fon Davis (Interstellar, Star Wars), James Iliff (Survios co-founder), Palmer Luckey (Oculus founder), Max Leitman (Need For Speed [film]), Chris Donley (Saints Row), Thomas Giles Rogers, Jr (Between the Buried and Me), Greg Karas (Andy Grammer), and more. Recently he scored a magical & funny short for the Walt Disney Animation Studios entitled Hair-Jitsu, which premiered at the El Capitan Theater with The Lion King & is now available on Disney+. For the unique sounds of Hair-Jitsu, Jeremy recorded the sounds of his Chinese martial arts weapons as percussion instruments to use as the foundation for his score, and combined them with the roaring sounds of the Taiko drum.

Other recent projects include the upcoming 10-episode docu-series: Hiking The Divide To Unite, which focuses on a famous hiker and his wife as they trek the Continental Divide from Canada to Mexico, and how the local arts communities surrounding the Divide have been forced to cope with the current global pandemic. Jeremy was honored with a 2021 Telly Award for his score to the online teaser for the show. In addition to being a television series, HTD2U is also currently raising money and awareness for the SAG-AFTRA Actors Fund, and has hosted a series of panels featuring George Takei, Telly Leung, Ellie Wang and more.

Jeremy has also become the go-to Virtual Reality composer of today. Most recently, he scored Survios’ highly recommended pirate adventure VR game, Battlewake, currently available on most VR platforms, including Playstation VR, Oculus Rift, and more. For Battlewake, he utilized ethnic percussion instruments from all across the world to create a unique and other-worldly sound.  Jeremy also scored the sensational and record-breaking VR game Raw Data for Survios.  Alongside these two projects, Jeremy has scored a myriad of other games and is respected as an accomplished pioneer in the VR space.

He also contributed to the musical productions of many concerts, films and television shows, including Jurassic World, Symphony of Heroes Live: Sword Art Online, Disney's Pixar In Concert, Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, Green Lantern: The Animated Series, and more.  Since Jeremy plays the drums quite well, he was asked to be a drummer in the famous highway musical number in the multi-Oscar winning film La La Land.

When not creating music, Jeremy can be found spending time with his wife and daughter. He currently resides in Los Angeles.
